As a Korean, it is a quite interesting experience to watch this topic on youtube. Most of the information is accurate and i have even learned something new myself. There are a few things I think should have been included:
Firstly, it would be better to mention Seotaji and boys, a game changer in the korean pop music scene, instead of HOT.
Secondly, the Screen Quota policy, which played a siginificant role in advancing korean film industry.
    Thanks for sharing your insights.

As a Korean K-pop fan, this was a very impressive video.
Proper videos are really rare, so it's amazing that an Indian RUclipsr made this video.
He seems like someone who has studied Korea for a long time.
However, there is one thing to point out: Korea's idol system has nothing to do with Japan. Japan does not have a professional care system for idols like Korea does.
Lee Soo-man, who was the head of SM Entertainment, said he was inspired by America's New Kids on the Block and Motown Records.
Motown Records created the first artist training system.

A man said, "I hope our country becomes the most beautiful in the world, not necessarily the most powerful. What I truly desire is the strength of our rich culture." He was Korean independence activist and politician who fervently wished for peace and national reunification in Korea.

I'd like to add one more point, K-beauty is also one of the reasons that boomed the economic growth of South Korea. I'd say things perfectly aligned for South Korea...the rise in kpop, kdramas and k-beauty all happened at same time, contributing to the popularity of South Korea. It has now become a dream destination for many, including mine. There are so many things we can learn from Korea.

I learned this from the case study of South Korea:
    1. Censorship shouldn't be used as a weapon to suppress the opposition but rather used as a tool to increase quality of media.
    2. There are very less countries where people can openly criticize and address the problems in the government, having independent media enhances the spirit of a democracy.
    3. Every politician has to choose between greed and development. Those who choose greed are forgotten but, revolutionaries are immortal.

very rightly said and explained, there is an urgent need to foster our culture across the globe. every state of India possesses a very rich and diverse culture, yet nobody is taking steps towards nurturing it. Now, it becomes the responsibility of all state governments to do something in this regard. Also, one thing I figured out from your video is that instead of hard power, soft power can provide us a gateway for becoming a developed nation soon and our economy can also thrive by soft power fostering. Every state has its own cultural dress and history and that if adduced can be proven spectacular.

I've seen BTS performing in award shows in their traditional attire, and incorporating traditional Korean sounds and instruments and dances into their contemporary music and choreographies, K-dramas also portray their culture really well. Indians could learn from this, we also have such a rich culture, we should embrace it and incorporate it into our entertainment industry a lot more and it could be marketed as a cultural export really well.

There's one more thing that India can learn from South Korea. Though this is not limited to only Korea, many other Asian countries have this characteristic. Koreans/Taiwanese don't honk on the streets. They follow very strict road discipline. They don't talk loudly at public places. They keep their surroundings clean. These very basic things make a huge difference. India is the totally opposite of this. Which has now become our identity. As far as culture is concerned, Indian states have done exemplary work. Punjabi music is a global phenomenon. Tamil and Telugu movies have been a great vehicle of their respective cultures. When I visited Sri Lanka, I met a gentleman at Galle. He asked me where I was from and I was surprised when he said that he watches Malayalam movies and is a huge fan or Prithviraj Sukumar. Last but not the least, Bollywood movies are taking India to the world. Whether we like it or not, Bollywood is the biggest doorway for a foreigner into the Indian cultural realm. The only problem is that our filmmakers must understand their responsibility and make films sensibly.

    • @Soulhandle234
      @Soulhandle234 Год назад +7

Agreed, instead of making ridiculous movies like Animal Bollywood should make real life problems movies, and logical actions if you want to make fiction movie with excellent stories that can literally impress people. Great video Dhruv. Korean dramas, movies and bands today are popular globally. Korea has really been successful in making the best of its talent and culture. Any nation wanting to become developed shouldn't ignore the potential of films, media, music and even sports. And to harvest the true potential in these areas, it's important to read the environment and people. Hollywood has played an undeniable part in increasing the soft-power of US. A nation truely can only grow when someone truly caring takes the lead. In India where crony capitalism is thriving and big businesses get projects in return for handsome donations, one wonders if true development on a global scale is really possible. Chaebols were restricted for nation's benefit in Korea. Can the same happen in India where politicians shake hands with big businesses for personal benefits?

But i feel sad that our indian industry is stuck in old same stories and nothing is new that can reach to global level.. We really need something that can help with this thing.. I'm not saying that india is failure because we recently gave some outstanding movies like RRR, pushpa etc.. We loved that india got recognition that we all wanted...
We need to help ourselves just like korea did... I respect and love both countries.
And here's a note for teenagers: remember even if you are k pop or k drama addict just never forget to respect the culture you are born in.. Support art, movies, dance and music or anything that is related to it❤ It helps our country too!

I'm a Korean. First of all, I think it is very wrong for some clubs and restaurants in Korea to ban Indians and Pakistanis from entering. However, they later retracted their policy. Of course, there are racist Koreans, but there are also many Koreans who criticize this and do not. Thinking that all Koreans are racist based on a few examples only spreads further hatred. Rather, many Indians are living well in Korea without being discriminated against, there are many Koreans who like India, and there are also K-POP artists from India. If Koreans are really racist, how is this possible? I've seen a lot of comments from Indians making fun of Koreans for being homosexual or having plastic surgery. Would it be correct if I used these few Indians as an example to assume that all Indians are racist? If Indians think all Koreans are racist, believe whatever you want. However, that only creates further hatred and prejudice and does not help the friendship between India and Korea. I hope both countries respect each other and get along well.

While most K-pop groups were concentrating on establishing themselves in Korea, BTS took a different route by participating in American Hustle Life, showcasing a global media approach from the outset. I find it difficult to attribute BTS's success to mere luck or external promotion. Uh no actually your logic ain't understandable why just BTS when there were really famous groups like bigbang, shine or exo they all debuted from really big companies but BTS who was debuted in a really small bankrupt company..why just them? If it's about skills exo really has high skills in terms of dance, vocals, rap and everything to be honest it's more powerful and strong group than BTS so why would they take BTS? (Not hating BTS just telling facts )

@anushkavighe your saying is understandable but when you said exo have high skills in term of dance, vocal, rap and everything then exo should be in place of bts but even if they are from small company they made it they made kpop know to many people even haters only chant bts bcs bts are more talented then them I m not saying they aren't intact every idol is talented but the way bts did Noone can do. exo is not even mentioned in the vedio...

The best thing about korean content is ,they don't hesitate to show real issues of their country ❤ Bullying is a big problem in S.Korea , but they don't ignore it ,and raise this issue in thier dramas. Even korean songs are focused on life issues ,mental health. Culture can be the most effective tool for awareness and S.Korea knows it well ❤❤❤

Story is totally opposite 😂😂... majority of their dramas promote fantasy and as a lala la land ... especially in kpop girls are main target and looks played a main role ... ofcourse their is a lot to learn but we cant ignore the fact that looks played a major role ...there are many talented singers in the world but they doens't get same recognition as kpop singers because they don't have those looks and fashionable clothes+++ parasocial relationship of kpop idols with fans are also main reason for their success ...and today many girls are mentally suffering because of this parasocial relationship.
